RIM announces impressive Blackberry sales figures
Some interesting news for Blackberry fans, news that the number of Blackberry smartphones sold in the last sales quarter increased by 33% to 14.1 million, according to the latest sales figures released.
In Q3, RIM saw a 24% rise in revenue to $5.2bn, compared with the previous quarter.
The increase has been attributed to a launch of Blackberry 7 based smartphones and promotions.
The Playbook tablet accounted for 150,000 of sales during the quarter.
Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis, co-CEOs at RIM, said: “Despite the challenges faced in the third quarter, the BlackBerry subscriber base grew to almost 75 million customers around the world.”
