Attention Nokia fans, after finding out in June that Nokia are to officially release the follow up to the Nokia N8, surprisingly called the Nokia N9 (which will run their new MeeGO operating system) they have let loose some further information and a online release countdown for the much awaited handset.

If we have done our sums correctly this indicates a 15^th September release for the Swedes and we’re hoping a UK release will soon follow.

A lot of people are eagerly anticipating the Nokia N9 smartphone release as this is a very important handset release for Nokia with all the internal changes to the Finnish giants over recent times.

Looking over the specs the Nokia N9 boasts an impressive feature set and is being released in various colour variations (black, blue and pink). It’s form being a 3.9 inch curved AmoLED touchscreen display and sporting a 1GHz processer with 1GB of RAM, it’s set to be the most powerful Nokia experience yet. NFC (near field communication) is included and will be running the new MeeGo OS with the obligatory WiFI and GPS.

Nokia have also stated the Nokia N9 will be the “fastest image capturing phone” available on the market and will take 8 MegaPixel shots and come with a Carl Zeiss wide-angle lens with two LED flashes, this will enable photos to be taken in a mere 2.6 seconds.

Yet as many will be wondering will these impressive stats and features entice the masses back to Nokia?
